As a lifestyle pioneer with 35+ years experience as a natural living expert, wellness expert, yoga therapist and teacher, yoga bodybuilder, and a dual Masters in both Elementary education and Special education- through the lifecycle, Amy uses this experience and knowledge of human development and learning and the brain in the field of Mind-Body Medicine, that helps you awaken to your optimal blueprint- specific to you.
As a leader in the natural health and wellbeing field and one of Long Island's first certified yoga teachers and mindfulness based stress relievers and meditators, her expertise in the human condition is what sets her apart as a mentor's mentor.
Raising her three children was where Amy learned and experimented with diet, lifestyle and environment factors birthing her as a 'Functional Lifestyle Medicine' educator. Amy's philosophy is to locate and treat the mechanism of a symptom complex-whether family disharmony, parenting challenges, difficulties with behavior or learning, helping peace and new possibility enter. She intervenes on behalf of your wellbeing to unburden the painful agony of psychic, social, emotional, mental or psychological manifestations. Amy is adept at tweaking where you are, to recalibrate and realign. This transformation is a byproduct of her "BitByBit' strategy. Authentic ease, sustainability toward living a true Life is cultivated and realized. Rather than live a life of default, and 'just' treat symptoms, we use a 'root cause' awareness that offers each person a specific Individual Alignment Plan-IAP, that yields complete resolution over time.This is living life by design that glorifies your wellbeing.
Amy's speciality is the client, organization, team or family who feel like things are just falling apart. This all is birthed from the breadth of knowledge and experience that come from her years of study and the education of other providers in the functional medical model. ISHTA, Rajanaka Yoga and its Tantra philosophy enriches all of her wisdoms. It is because Amy lived through this time in her own life, she is able to offer integrative and interconnected solutions because, as she says, "Been there. Done that. No more."
This was Amy's greatest lesson- the invitation to a greater, more functional perspective of life, abundance, wellbeing, wellness, self care and self honor.
Having a vision for the future rather than a memory of the past, creates a new level of mind which then becomes the very virtue and value she is presently known for.
This Mind-Body-Heart-Breath approach turns all around. Client, after client affirms this. The lesson really was underscored when Amy got her life back after she was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. She began the yoga therapeutics of ISHTA yoga- the Integrated Science of Hatha, Tantra and Ayurveda.
Under the guidance of Yogiraj Alan Finger, in the early 90s, Alan influenced and inspired Amy and showed her the gateway of the body-mind connection to both higher consciousness, creativity, wellbeing, physiological and psychological wholeness. This was when Amy's began her formal therapeutic and yoga teaching career--using the body as a portal to heal every other area of life. She went from depression and depleted to exuberant, excited and experienced!
With her system, Amy is able to set up solid foundations-whether those ungrounded, uprooted, unmanageable feelings and health state, and perhaps anxiety, root themselves as a cause from the physical, emotional, mental, spiritual or business worlds. Her expertise is to observe how people learn best, why, and then create multiple, cross pollinated solutions.
She holds a vision to shift global mindset through life skills, relationship education, personal growth and emotional literacy. She donates to The UnStoppable Foundation- a social movement committed to ensuring that every child receives education. As an Executive Board member of LIPAC-Long Island Professional ADHD Consortium and member of The Learning and Brain Society she expands her knowledge base, shares her expertise and lives a life as a humble student daily.
